H&R once again debuts an awesome new project based on a Volkswagen model; this time, we’ve chosen the all-new Beetle R. The Beetle R is the only two door Volkswagen model available with the potent 2.0T, GTI engine. The R-Line comes well equipped from the factory with 6-speed DSG® transmission and R-Line components inside and out. We decided to take this R-Line to the next level and create R-version.
The special H&R RSS Performance Tuner Coil Over along with H&R aluminum camber plates provide precise suspension performance for the Beetle chassis. The H&R Coil Overs are set at a lowering height of 1.7” front and 1.5” rear for the perfect European stance! The addition of the H&R Sport Sway bars adds awesome turn-in. H&R suspension components enhance the look of the Beetle and improve performance.
The large Beetle fenders were filled with Forgeline GT1-5 fully forged one-piece monoblock wheels that are specifically chosen because of their style and hidden lug holes. These wheels feature a custom hand brushed finish with clear gloss. High performance, super sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires, size 245/35ZR20 front, and 265/35ZR20 rear, complete the performance-handling package.
To take advantage of the performance of the H&R RSS Coil Over system, a Brembo High Performance GT system was integrated into the build. The Brembo GT system’s lightweight 355mm (14”) 2-piece disc minimizes the amount of reciprocating mass that the suspension endures, resulting in improved vehicle dynamics. Also, a special eye to attention was given to the aluminum bell, which received a special ceramic silver finish. The complete system, with the more rigid 6-piston caliper and Goodridge stainless steel brake lines, provides the notoriously nuanced feel that Brembo brake systems are known for.
Rounding out the high performance braking, handling, wheel and tire package is a race inspired graphic and VW’s own GSR rear spoiler.
