It is 2017, a rainy and cold day in February when H&R Managing Director Christian Heine receives a call from 02 legend Rainer Ahrend. He has been in possession of a very special rarity since 1988… a childhood dream that Mr. Heine has been emulating for a long time - a real BMW 2002 Alpina.

The dusty BMW with an impressive racing history had hibernated for decades - to be precise, it hasn’t seen daylight since it was deregistered in 1971. But it shouldn’t stay that way.. So it was only a matter of time before the “H&R BMW 2002 Alpina” project was launched immediately after the purchase.

With the support of 2.0 Automotive, Ahrend 02 Tuning and Alpina, there was the perfect combination of know-how and ambition that such a project demands.

The result is a complete restoration without any compromise.
