H&R Special Springs adds Auto Meter Competition Series instruments to its 2011 Ford Taurus SHO
High performance cars and competition instruments go hand in hand–so when H&R Special Springs decided to upgrade the its one-of-a-kind custom 2011 SHO Taurus, Auto Meter Competition Series instruments were a natural choice. But rather than mounting the gauges in an old school bracket underneath the dash, H&R continued in its high-tech ways by integrating the gauges in the factory overhead console for a unique, aircraft style layout. The console houses a #5577 Vacuum/Boost gauge to monitor the boost level of the turbocharged EcoBoost turbocharged V-6 engine, as well as a #5583 volt meter. Auto Meter Competition Series instruments combine the extreme durability and readability of 270-degree sweep mechanical gauges with the easy installation of short sweep electronic gauges. Track tested and race proven, these gauges use precision senders to keep hazardous fluids out of the passenger compartment, and perform gauge calibration and sensor diagnostics at power up for extreme accuracy.
